Malnutrition remains a major public health concern affecting cognitive development and academic performance in children. This cross-sectional study assessed the nutritional status of 800 school-aged children (6–12 years) in urban and rural areas and examined its relationship with academic outcomes. Anthropometric measurements were used to classify children as underweight, normal weight, or overweight. Academic performance was assessed using standardized school grades. Results showed that 32% of children were undernourished, and undernutrition was significantly associated with lower academic scores (p<0.01). The study highlights the need for school-based nutrition programs and regular monitoring to enhance both health and educational outcomes in children.
