Inappropriate antibiotic use contributes to antimicrobial resistance (AMR), a growing global health concern. This cross-sectional study assessed knowledge, attitude, and practices (KAP) regarding antibiotic use among 1,200 urban adults. Structured questionnaires measured awareness of antibiotic resistance, prescription adherence, and self-medication behaviors. Findings indicated that 62% of participants had poor knowledge of AMR, 48% reported self-medicating with antibiotics, and 35% discontinued antibiotics prematurely. Higher education level and prior healthcare counseling were associated with better KAP scores (p<0.05). The study highlights the urgent need for public awareness campaigns, stricter prescription regulations, and healthcare provider education to curb inappropriate antibiotic use and combat AMR.
