Adolescent obesity is an emerging public health concern associated with poor dietary habits and sedentary lifestyles. This cross-sectional study examined dietary patterns, physical activity, and obesity prevalence among 1,000 adolescents aged 12ā18 years in urban high schools. Data were collected via 24-hour dietary recall, food frequency questionnaires, and anthropometric measurements. Results revealed that 28% of participants were overweight or obese, with high consumption of sugary beverages, fast food, and low intake of fruits and vegetables. Physical inactivity was observed in 65% of participants and strongly correlated with increased body mass index (BMI). Multivariate regression identified unhealthy dietary patterns, reduced physical activity, and low parental awareness as significant predictors of adolescent obesity (p<0.05). The study emphasizes the need for school-based nutrition education and physical activity promotion to curb obesity trends among adolescents.
