Misuse of antibiotics contributes significantly to antimicrobial resistance (AMR), a growing global public health concern. This cross-sectional study assessed knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) regarding antibiotic use among 2,000 residents of urban areas. Structured questionnaires measured awareness of antibiotic resistance, adherence to prescriptions, and self-medication behaviors. Results revealed that 64% of participants lacked adequate knowledge about antibiotic resistance, and 42% reported self-medicating with antibiotics. Higher educational levels and previous healthcare exposure were positively associated with correct antibiotic practices. The findings highlight the urgent need for targeted public health campaigns and educational interventions to promote rational antibiotic use and combat AMR in urban communities.
