Assessing Knowledge and Attitudes Toward COVID-19 Vaccination in Pregnant Women

Sofia Martinez¹, Rakesh Sharma², Grace Kim³

Abstract

Vaccine hesitancy among pregnant women poses challenges to maternal and neonatal health. This cross-sectional study investigated knowledge, attitudes, and vaccination uptake among 1,000 pregnant women attending antenatal clinics. Data were collected using structured interviews and surveys. Results revealed that 58% of participants were aware of COVID-19 vaccination recommendations, while 32% reported vaccine hesitancy due to safety concerns. Higher educational levels, previous vaccination history, and healthcare provider counseling were positively associated with vaccine acceptance. The study emphasizes the need for targeted educational campaigns and provider-led counseling to improve COVID-19 vaccination coverage among pregnant women and reduce maternal and neonatal morbidity.
