Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices Regarding COVID-19 Vaccination in Rural Communities

Omar Ahmed¹, Hannah Lee²

Abstract

Understanding public perceptions of COVID-19 vaccination is crucial for achieving high coverage in rural areas. This cross-sectional study assessed knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) related to COVID-19 vaccination among 800 adults in rural communities. Structured interviews revealed that 62% of participants had adequate knowledge of vaccine benefits, while 48% expressed vaccine hesitancy due to safety concerns. Positive attitudes and prior influenza vaccination were significantly associated with vaccine acceptance (p<0.05). Findings highlight the importance of targeted health communication campaigns and community engagement strategies to improve vaccine uptake.
